If you have been living in Black Ops 7 Season 1 for a few days, you already know Astra Malorum is no casual map, and if you are trying to chase camos or test stuff in a safer space, having a setup like a CoD BO7 Bot Lobby on the side does not sound so crazy. The main Easter egg feels long, but if you break it into chunks it stops being overwhelming. Everything starts with the Harmonic Oculus, and the game basically refuses to let you progress until it is fixed. You are hunting three fuses in the spawn and the upper Observatory decks, usually on crates, next to broken railings, or leaning against debris. Once those are in and the power stops flickering, forget side doors and points farming for a moment and go straight for the LGM-1 Wonder Weapon through the Armory quest. The box can technically drop it, sure, but you really do not want to gamble when you are going to need the upgraded version later anyway.
Planet Alignment Chaos
The next big wall for most squads is that planet alignment puzzle in the Control Room. You get this hologram showing a very specific order, and it looks harmless until you realise every shot from the LGM-1 has to match both the position and the colour of the floating orbs above the map. Miss the colour, or panic and pop the wrong orb, and the game throws you into a nasty lockdown round with heavy armoured zombies. People wipe here all the time because they rush it and everybody talks at once. The easier way is to have one caller reading the sequence, one shooter with the LGM-1, and everyone else clearing trash. Call the colour and the position, take the shot, then pause half a second to confirm before moving on. It feels slow, but it saves you from that punishment phase.
Cryo Chamber And Brain Escort
Once the planets are lined up correctly, the Cryo Chamber down in the basement unlocks and things get weird fast. You pull out Dr Thurston’s brain, and the game sticks you with that slow-walk escort where you are not allowed to fire a weapon. It is the classic moment where randoms sprint off and you end up alone, so it helps to set roles before anyone grabs the brain. One player carries, one runs ahead clearing spawns, and the rest stick close as a moving wall. The route to the scanner by the airlock is not that long, but it feels endless when specials spawn behind you. When the brain hits the scanner, do not rush the portal right away. Take a breath, dump scrap into armour, grab Self-Revives, Monkey Bombs, and extra plates. The big catch is Mars has no Pack-a-Punch, so whatever guns you jump with are what you are stuck with.
Mars Arena And Caltheris Phases
The Mars arena looks open, but it turns into a mess once the boss spawns. Caltheris has four phases and each one tests something different. At first you are just cracking the glowing vents on his armour, which feels straightforward as long as somebody keeps zombies under control. When phase two starts and he floods the floor with lava, people panic and fall off the high ground, so mark a couple of safe platforms early and rotate between them. Phase three is where most runs die because he goes immune and you have to focus purely on adds and those soul boxes in the corners. It is boring if you are underpowered and brutal if you are low on ammo, so having at least one ammo mod or strong field upgrade makes a big difference. The last phase is a pure damage race on his chest, with a wipe mechanic if you are too slow, so this is where tempo matters.
