Unlike a traditional platformer where level elements are fixed, level devil constantly breaks the unwritten rules of the genre. Platforms vanish, spikes spring from harmless floors, buzzsaws spontaneously appear mid-jump, and the ceiling may simply decide to collapse. Even the fundamental control scheme can be temporarily inverted or changed without warning.
